Something about cricket is elusive. I have so many British, Australian and Indian friends, and yet somehow I was unable to understand the sport of cricket until Vincent Price taught it to me right now. I think I’d rather like to have him teach me all sorts of things, which makes his death even more tragic.
Everyone knows that it’s all about the medium these days for music videos (something about it being the message?). And it’s all about grabbing the medium first. Where would The White Stripes be without Legos? Then Maldroids grabbed the Lite Brite, Hurrah Torpedo left their mark on large appliances, and of course OK Go totally pwned the treadmill.

Once upon a time, a friend of mine (Min Suh Son) claimed she could eat an entire jar of mayonnaise. Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki can withstand the flinch reflex during nearby rocket explosions. In case you missed his press conference with UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon:
Spike Lee’s Do the Right Thing played by Fischer Price Sesame Street toys, and in less than 5 minutes. Someone should do the entire Criterion Collection like this.
On this wondrous day of taxes, oh rainy day of spending time filling out forms, it is important to remember that some things are still outside of the purview of the tax man. I finished my taxes last week, so I can do thingy all day today!
You may remember the Japanese hip hop group Scha Dara Parr (SDP) from their collaboration with De La Soul on Buhloone Mindstate, “Long Island Wildin.” This recent video seems to poke fun at so many recent internet phenomena: Honda’s Rube Goldberg commercial, diet coke and mentos, and, umm, that’s all. It’s f’ing awesome.
To fellow University of Chicago alum and religious smoker of pall malls: rest in peace. The following documentary was made in 1983 by the BBC and Arena, cut into 8 digestible pieces.
